Already deployed at multiple Fortune 500 companies our team has created the next enterprise software disruptor and we are looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Engineer to join us on this journey as part of our founding engineering team.

The Role

8Flow is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the founding team to help build on our existing momentum to take our suite of products to the next level. You will provide additional value-adds through greenfield initiatives, as well as preparation, planning and groundwork to scale the platform. Our ideal hire will have a strong desire to work at a startup and shape the vision of the company together with us. You will work closely with the Engineering leadership on creating highly-performant, scalable, and reliable backend services that can handle enterprise-scale workloads.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement scalable backend architectures
• Architect and develop high-throughput event processing systems
• Establish best practices for backend development and system scalability
• Design and implement robust data processing pipelines that can handle large-scale data ingestion and processing
• Drive technical initiatives for critical system components while mentoring other team members
• Optimize system performance and resource utilization across our distributed architecture
• Work with the team to help design the product iteratively to achieve high velocity
• Explore new product development areas driven by a strategic understanding of the user's landscape.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience building scalable and performant backend systems capable of handling high-throughput workloads
• Strong experience with Backend technologies, such as NodeJS/Typescript, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, Serverless deployment
• 5+ years in a cloud-based ecosystem such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with focus on scalable architectures
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and system scaling principles
• Experience designing and implementing high-performance APIs, with data-intensive systems, and building data pipelines
